Quit Smoking, Vaping and Control Your Drinking for Hypnotherapists with Sarah Sollom

  • When: Friday, 7th January 2022, 10:00 - 12:30 GMT
  • Where: Online via Zoom
  • Cost: £75. Link will be sent after payment is received.

Quit smoking and vaping

Sarah Sollom Do you dread quit smoking sessions, because you have to remember so much information? This session equips you to work confidently with clients. Quit Smoking and Vaping is for working with individual clients or, if appropriate, for two people from the same household (typically a couple who smoke together). It is a two-session client procedure. You will receive the following package and you can personalise all these items with your own branding to make it your own:

  • A full PowerPoint presentation ready to use
  • Various client hand-outs including Self Awareness and Preparation exercises
  • My own specific language pattern
  • Notes for your use about how to proceed with your clients

Also included:

  • Procedures for both client sessions fully explained
  • Demonstration of the PowerPoint presentation and how it makes the sessions much easier for you
  • Some advice about advertising

Control your drinking

This is for use with clients who would like to cut down on alcohol or even stop drinking altogether. I have used it with young binge drinkers. It could be described as a useful tool for your toolkit but is NOT designed for a client with a serious alcohol problem. It is ideal for a client who is maybe attending sessions for other issues, as it adds variety. Your package includes:

  • A full PowerPoint presentation
  • Brief notes for your own use

There is considerable overlap with Quit Smoking as there are many similarities in the behaviours that accompany smoking and drinking. However, there is a fair amount of content that is specific to drinking and saves you a lot of time which it would take for you to devise your own. After Quit Smoking, I will continue to go through Control Your Drinking.

If you have attended Weight Loss – a Mindset Approach, you will find a few areas of overlap with Quit Smoking, e.g. a brain explanation and a couple of points of explanation but it is presented differently and other elements are different.

14 Jan 2022

A Solution Focused Approach to Post Traumatic Stress Disorder with Andy Workman

  • When: Friday, 14th January 2022, from 17:00
  • Where: Best Western Chilworth Manor Hotel, Southampton
  • Cost: £75 payable in advance. Includes a certificate of attendance and PDF copy of the slides

Andy Workman Many of us experience trauma in our lives. For example, road collisions, personal injury, physical, mental or sexual abuse, natural or man-made disasters, warfare or civil unrest, terrorist incidents - the list could go on but definitely includes VIRAL PANDEMICS! Sometimes, just being a witness to such incidents can be traumatic. We are all exposed to graphic, detailed and disturbing coverage via the press and social media, to such an extent that we would be forgiven for thinking that we were actually present at the event.

Most can deal with these things but if the incident or our involvement in it is of enough magnitude, our can suffer lasting, reoccurring and life changing emotional and psychological trauma. Sometimes, as in current times, it can be ABSENCE from an event that causes trauma. Not being able to assist a relative or loved one when they are dying can be incredibly traumatic and the effects can be long lasting.

PTSD - Post Traumatic Stress Disorder is a very real condition that adversely affects the lives of sufferers, their family, friends and colleagues alike. It can result in life limiting/threatening conditions such as addiction, aggression, self harm and even suicide. Thankfully, the condition responds well to hypnotherapy, with many individuals able to return to a full life experience as a result of treatment.

What is included?

This workshop includes:

  • What is PTSD
  • The history of the condition
  • The diagnosis criteria for PTSD
  • Common approaches used in mainstream treatment
  • PTSD in Children and how to approach it
  • Why proper diagnosis and treatment is so important - for the THERAPIST
  • The solution focused approach to treating PTSD

  • Cost: £110 payable in advance. Link will be sent on once payment is received.

About this event

Weightloss mindset Sarah Sollom, DPH, DSFH, Member of CNCH, presents Weight Loss – A Mindset Approach.

Have you ever felt with Weight Loss clients that you are wading through treacle? I used to find that lowering a client’s stress level simply wasn’t enough. I often felt stuck with little or no progress as far as my client’s Weight Loss was concerned, even if the client felt happier and less stressed. I felt the need to offer something more specific. After all, they had come to me with expectations and I wanted to fulfil them. So I developed Weight Loss – A Mindset Approach.

This CPD is to demonstrate my method and equip you with all you need for running short courses with individual clients as well as for working with groups, face-to-face or online. It is very Solution Focused, and it is NOT about body weight, calories or food. Your clients will learn about the brain and gain insight into their eating habits. This knowledge is empowering and you will be offering strategies to make it so much easier for clients to change their eating behaviours and get rid of cravings. Clients will enjoy a new feeling of self-control and achievement.

What is included?

When you attend this CPD, you will receive all the materials that I have created for Weight Loss. You can then personalise the content to make it your own and get started as soon as you wish. The package includes:

  • How to get started, the advertising materials that I have devised, flyers etc. lots of information about how I advertise and fill places
  • The emails and booking forms for clients
  • Two versions of my PowerPoint presentation. One is spread over two sessions, the other over three with an explanation of the rationale behind this
  • Self-awareness exercises and session notes for clients
  • Language pattern and a link to copyright-free music that you can use with no restrictions
  • Lots of further information about how I make this approach work for myself and my clients
  • Ongoing support and advice

The CPD takes approximately three and a half hours. During the session, I email the whole package to you. We look through it together. I am happy to give further advice and support on the day and afterwards. You will not feel rushed.

Enabling you to assist clients to overcome extreme anxiety so they can experience freedom from fear of conception, pregnancy or traumatic birth

  • When: Friday, 11 February 2022 from 17:30 to 20:30 (GMT)
  • Where: Chilworth Manor, University Parkway, Chilworth SO16 7PT
  • Cost: £80

About this event

Weightloss mindset Sharon Mustard easibirthing® and parenting training founder and director presents this exceptional training. Refreshments are included and a CPD certificate of attendance will be available.

Course introduction

Tokophobia is a pathological dread and avoidance of childbirth. It is a distressing condition which can often be overlooked by medical professionals. As well as specific phobias and anxiety, tokophobia may be associated with depression and post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

Fear of childbirth is common and more intense in pregnant women who have not had a previous experience of childbirth. Over 20% of pregnant women report fear and 6% describe a fear that is disabling. Altogether 13% of women who are not pregnant report fear of childbirth sufficient to postpone or avoid pregnancy.

This is a 3 hours CPD course for professionals to assist clients to overcome extreme anxiety so they can experience freedom from fear of conception, pregnancy or a traumatic birth experience.

Tokophobia and Birth Trauma

What is included?

This course will cover working with the following tokophobic clients:

  • Women who have had a previous traumatic birth experience (secondary tokophobia)
  • Women who have suffered a previous trauma such as sexual abuse or rape
  • Those who have had no previous first hand experience of childbirth (primary tokophobia)
  • Men and women who have witnessed a traumatic birth as a birth partner
  • Those who are avoiding pregnancy altogether or have subconscious blocks to fertility

The benefits for your clients

easibirthing® is a registered trademark (the only one in the field in the UK) and any practitioner using this trademark has been fully trained and qualified, a reassurance for potential clients. Your knowledge will help clients:

  • Be free from fear which could otherwise rule their life decisions about parenthood
  • Be free from perceived restrictions on choices about their future
  • Learn strategies to empower rather than feel helpless
  • Feel listened to and understood in a safe environment
  • Process and reframe previous trauma to manage risk of re-traumatisation
